The new immigration law passed in Arizona giving the police the power to detain anyone suspected of being in the country illegally is discriminating and unjust! It gives the police an open invitation to harass any Hispanic,  or person of any ethnic background, they want. Citizens of ethnic background shouldn’t have to carry immigration documents merely because a police officer  gets a “weird vibe” from them and suspects they may be  illegally present in the U.S.

It’s quite frankly flat out completely and utterly ridiculous! 15% of the population in the United States is made up of Hispanic people. That’s almost a fourth of the ENTIRE population! Banning them and barring them from entering the U.S. for NO PROBABLE REASON are signs of insolence and naivety. Immigrants take on a lot of jobs and labors that many American citizens would refuse doing. They help shape and build this country as if it were their own. 6% to 14% of Hispanics are in the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and the U.S. Army. They put their life on the line for this country like it were their own blood and family they were protecting. Why on Earth would we want to try and keep them out and away?! Fear? Fear of what? That they may become a potent force in this country? Or that they outnumber the Caucasians? That’s racism, discrimination, and alienation!

Isn’t the U.S. supposed to welcome and support new people that want to join and become a part of this country? Discriminating against Hispanics in such a fashion as this would make the U.S. almost as immoral as having a dictatorship. Yes, it’s true some people may slip in illegally, but that doesn’t mean ALL Hispanics are illegally coming here or that they’re bad people. Some just want better lives for themselves and their families.

Who is Arizona to say that just because of a few bad seeds we have to stop EVERY SINGLE Hispanic that looks “suspicious.” Arizona is known as being a racist state. President Obama even agreed that this law wasn’t the brightest idea. People are people, whether they be white, brown, black, tan, yellow, red, orange, green, or blue, you name it! They have a right to come into and be a part of this country without being grilled and harassed just because they look “suspicious.” And why do they “look suspicious” Arizona? Because of the color of their skin? What other evidence can you show me besides that and MAYBE I’ll agree with your ridiculous need for this law!
